07 - Depression

The Depression program is tailored to the need of the individual. If you’re on SSRI medication and wish to stop being dependent on it, a treatment plan is made, using Kambô to slowly and safely taper off it. Kambô stimulates the natural production of mood-regulating peptides and endorphins, restores vitality, emotional balance, and connection to self. Can be done both in circles and in private 1-1 sessions.

Depression protocol

An in-depth explanation

A structured, safe, and supported path toward emotional clarity and nervous system balance.

This program is designed for people who struggle with depression, emotional heaviness, burnout, numbness, or long-term dysregulation—and who feel ready for a guided, step-by-step journey out of medication and back into their own natural emotional intelligence.

Kambô is not a psychedelic; it does not force visions or re-traumatise the system. Instead, it works directly with the nervous system, endocrine pathways, and emotional layers—helping the body release the heaviness underlying many depressive states while restoring vitality, clarity, and inner direction.

For those on antidepressants, Kambô can also be part of a carefully structured step-down process, done slowly and safely in collaboration with your general practitioner.

Why Kambô Helps With Depression

Depression is rarely “one thing.” For most people it is a complex state held in:

  • the emotional body

  • inflammatory processes

  • the gut-brain axis

  • hormone imbalance

  • chronic stress

  • unresolved trauma

  • nervous system exhaustion

Kambô addresses many of these layers at once.

The peptides help regulate the adrenal system, support the gut-brain connection, and clear emotional stagnation without needing to revisit the past. Many people describe a feeling of “waking up” after treatments - more present, clearer, and able to feel themselves again.

Weaning Off Antidepressants: A Structured, Safe Protocol

Coming off antidepressants must be approached slowly. Some medications have long half-lives, others create strong withdrawal symptoms, and stopping too quickly can lead to emotional destabilisation.

This protocol unfolds as follows:

1. Assessment & Preparation

We begin with:

  • health intake & medical history

  • identifying the medication(s) used

  • reviewing dosage and half-life

  • contacting your GP (they cannot legally refuse a supervised step-down plan)

A basic Kambô treatment is done before starting the protocol.

2. The Medication Step-Down Structure

An individualised step-down treatment plan is made, where all Kambô-treatments are mapped out, as well as the exact increments that the medication dosage is slowly lowered. The plan is constructed with ample time the emotional/physiological detox that happens between step-downs.

3. The Pace Depends on the Medicine

Each antidepressant behaves differently:

  • some step-downs take 3–12 months

  • milder medications may take weeks

  • strong medications like Cymbalta/duloxetine cannot be weaned oof with Kambô (they are contraindicated), but regular Kambô treatments can still support mood, resilience, and clarity

Opioids and pain medications can also be stepped down using this same formula.

4. Emotional & Physical Support

During the weaning process you receive:

  • Kambô ceremonies (either in circles or 1-1)

  • weekly or bi-weekly check-ins

  • grounding practices

  • guidance for emotional waves, anger, grief, or exhaustion

  • nutrition and supplementation support

  • lifestyle adjustments to support stability

Strong motivation and lifestyle readiness are essential.

Your financial situation must also be stable—you need the resources to stay committed throughout the journey.

For People Not Wanting to Come Off Medication

Many people want the benefits of Kambô while staying on their antidepressants. This is completely possible.

We simply ensure:

  • you skip your medication on the morning of the ceremony

  • you resume it afterward

  • treatments are structured as basic Kambô protocols

  • we do not step down unless that is your intention

Kambô can still offer:

  • mood uplift

  • nervous system reset

  • release of emotional stagnation

  • clarity & renewed energy

  • resilience against stress

Without touching your current pharmaceutical treatment.

Who This Program Is For

This program is ideal for those who:

  • feel stuck in depression or chronic emotional heaviness

  • want a natural, supported way to free themselves from medication

  • are ready to meet themselves honestly

  • want a structured, science-informed protocol

  • prefer grounded, non-psychedelic healing

  • have tried therapy or lifestyle changes without lasting results

Timeframe

Depending on the medication type, dosage, and half-life calculations, the program may take:

  • 2–4 weeks for mild medications

  • 2–6 months for moderate antidepressants

  • 6–10 months for long-term or high-dose use

You will receive a clear projected timeline after your intake call.

A Path Back to Your Own Inner Chemistry

Kambô doesn’t suppress emotions. It doesn’t force altered states. It simply helps the body remember how to function without excess pressure, toxicity, or emotional stagnation.

Many people describe the end of this program as:

  • “feeling like myself again”

  • “finally having access to my emotions”

  • “stable, grounded, and clear”

  • “able to live without medication for the first time in years”

Pricing

Pricing depends on:

  • whether sessions are 1–1 at or as part of a circle,

  • the number of sessions needed,

  • and the length of the protocol based on medication type and half-life.

Because every plan is unique, a short clarity call is required before booking.
