What to expect from a ceremony
A Kambô ceremony is a dedicated space to meet yourself with honesty, courage, and care. Each session unfolds slowly and intentionally, beginning with grounding, preparation, and emotional support, followed by the Kambô application, deep rest, and integration. The entire journey lasts up to four hours, with the intense part of the medicine typically moving through the body for 20–40 minutes.
The rest of the time is devoted to recalibration of the nervous system, nourishment, reflection, and gentle integration.
Kambô is not a psychedelic. There are no visions or altered states. Instead, it works directly through the body’s innate intelligence—clearing stagnation, releasing stored tension, and opening space for clarity and emotional ease.
The setting is simple, grounded, and held with intention. Mats, blankets, bolsters, water, and your own purge bucket are provided. Soft music supports the process unless you prefer silence or your own playlist in private sessions. Everything is designed to help you feel safe, unhurried, and able to let go.
We begin with grounding and intention setting—inviting both your conscious and unconscious mind into readiness. Breath, stillness, and presence help the body soften. The space is energetically cleansed, and in private sessions there is time for personal reflection or sharing before the work begins. This opening phase is not about analysing your life or creating goals. It’s about arriving fully — exactly as you are.
Small superficial points—known as gates—are created on the skin. There is no blood, and the marks fade almost completely with time. You’ll drink 1.5 L of water to support the cleansing process, and the Kambô is applied in small dots onto the gates.
Within minutes, the peptides begin circulating through the lymphatic system. You may experience:
heat or facial flushing
increased heart rate
dizziness or shaking
emotional release
nausea, purging, or a bowel movement
This peak phase is short but powerful. You are not left alone at any point - your practitioner remains at your side, steady, calm, and attentive. The work is held in a non-judgmental container where everything that arises is welcome. There is nothing you need to figure out. Nothing to analyse. Nothing to “do.” Kambô works through surrender, not effort.
After the medicine has been taken off again, you rest. This is when the medicine settles inside the body, the nervous system rewires, and your field reorganises itself. Many people feel lightness, calm, or renewed clarity. Others feel soft, open, or just a bit tired.
This phase lasts 30–60 minutes and is an essential part of the ceremony. You may sleep, journal, or lie quietly as your system integrates the shift.
A simple meal is offered afterward — fruits, nuts, a smoothie, warm tea. This helps stabilise blood sugar, replace electrolytes, and ground the body. There is also space to share or ask questions. You receive gentle guidance for the following days, supporting both the physical and emotional integration of the work. For those in ongoing programs or mentorship containers, this is where the deeper unfolding begins.
Kambô is ultimately a ceremony of returning — returning to your body, your clarity, your resilience, your inner truth.
It’s not about perfection or performance. It’s about making space for what has been held for too long, and allowing something truer to rise.
Wear comfortable, unrestricted clothing. Gym gear is perfect. Point placement will be determined on the day based on your energetic needs—this may include arms, legs, back or chest.
Shorts
Vest or tank top
Joggers or leggings
Warm jumper or hoodie
Warm socks
Sports bra or backless top (for women, especially if points are placed on the back)
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after your session.
Eat a good meal of your choice the evening before and then fast for at least 12 hours before your session.
Do not engage in water fasting or strict diets 7 days prior.
A small cup of water or tea may be consumed in the morning of your session if needed, but stop liquid intake after 7 AM.
We apply Dragon’s Blood (a natural healing resin from the Amazon) to seal your gates and promote healing. The burns are light, and most clients experience no lasting marks. Treat them as you would a mosquito bite — avoid scratching, and allow scabs to fall off naturally.
I will follow up within 24–48 hours via email. You’re also welcome to reach out at any time. But Kambô does not require psychedelic-style integration. You do not need to process or revisit the session. The invitation is rather to be still an try to be with whatever arises on the other side of the treatment. Both the emotional and the physical.
